Plasma Nitride
This Nitriding process is carried out to enhance the surface properties of finished or near finished ferrous components. Producing a high surface hardness that is resistant to wear, scuffing, galling and seizure.
Plasma Nitride is a controllable and flexibile process, which can be utilised to economically improve the performance of a variety of components.
Typical components include; Gears, Crankshafts, Camshafts, Alu Ext. Dies, Ext. Screws, Injectors, Plastic mould steels, Oilfield applications and more. THT can Plasma Nitride Stainless steel to produce a hard, wear resistant surface.
PlasOx process
Nitrocarburising in Plasma with subsequent oxidation treatment (PlasOx) influences work-piece properties, specifically with regard to corrosion resistance, wear resistance and anti-frictional properties.
The important factor of the PlasOx process is that the oxidisation is controlled to avoid Fe2O3 and produce pure magnetite (Fe3O4) which is highly corrosion resistant.
The surface finish on components which have been PlasOx processed is an aesthetically pleasing black finish.
Typical applications processed through PlasOx include; Toolholders, Milling Cutters, Threading Tools, internal parts for pump industry and more.
Excellent resistance to adhesion when die casting Aluminium.
Improved scuffing resistance on mild steel components.
